Event Registration Terms & Conditions

By submitting your registration, you unconditionally accept our terms and conditions presented below.

Payments

Payments for event registrations are accepted online using PayPal or by receipt of a physical check.  Payment must be received by CBIT or CBIT Education, Inc., whichever applicable, to gain admittance to our events.  If we have not received your payment prior to the day of the event, a check must be presented at the sign in table or payment must be made online via PayPal prior to gaining admittance to our event.  In the instance that a check was mailed but not yet received, we will accept a personal check for the total amount due to hold until we receive the mailed check.  We will hold the personal check for a period of not more than 10 days before depositing the check unless the mailed check is received during this period.   If the mailed check is received within the 10 day holding period, it will be deposited and the personal check will be destroyed.

Registration Type

The registration type you select when registering for our events determines the price you are charged and asked to pay.  The different registration types are defined below including who may qualify for each registration type.  By accepting CBIT's terms & conditions, you affirm that your registration and the registration type you select is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.  Should the selected registration type not be accurate, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth below.

CBIT Member

All paid CBIT Member Institutions are entitled to send their named representatives to attend our Spring & Fall Annual Tax Days and Meetings at a discounted member rate.  Selecting the Registration Type "CBIT Member" implies that you or the named registrant are the named representative of an instituition that paid the $400 CBIT Membership fee for the current fiscal year ending April 30th.  

If the registrant or named registrant is not the named representative of a paid CBIT Member Institution for the current fiscal year, but selects "CBIT Member" thereby paying the discounted rate, the registrant or named registrant agrees to pay CBIT or CBIT Education, Inc, whichever applicable, the difference between the Non-Member/Guest rate to attend the event and the amount actually paid.  The registrant or named registrant may instead elect to become a named representative of their institution by paying the annual CBIT Membership fee for the current fiscal year to satisfy this obligation.

CBIT Member/Substitutes

Paid CBIT Member Institutions may send a "Substitute" in place of one of their named representatives allowing the "Substitute" to pay the CBIT Member rate.  CBIT Member Institutions may send as many "Substitutes" as total number of memberships owned for the current fiscal year.  The "Substitute" is required to provide the name of the paid CBIT Member Institution representative for whom they are substituting in order to complete their registration.  Selecting the Registration Type "CBIT Member/Substitute" implies that you or the named registrant are substituting for the named representative of a paid CBIT Member Institution for the current fiscal year.

If the registrant or named registrant selects "CBIT Member/Substitute" thereby paying the discounted rate but the named representative is not from a paid CBIT Member Institution or the named representative chosen was already provided by another registrant attending as their "Substitute", the registrant or named registrant agrees to pay CBIT or CBIT Education, Inc, whichever applicable, the difference between the Non-Member/Guest rate to attend the event and the amount actually paid.  The registrant or named registrant may instead elect to become a named representative of their institution by paying the annual CBIT Membership fee for the current fiscal year to satisfy this obligation.

Non-Member/Guest

If you or the named registrant are not a representative of, or substituting for, a representative of a CBIT Member Institution you are required to register as a Non-Member/Guest and pay the event fee at full price.

Presenter

If you or the named registrant are presenting at one of our events, the event fee is waived, however we kindly ask that you still register for the event for which you are speaking.  If you are also a named representative of a CBIT Member Institution, you may send a "Substitute" in your place.
