Fiduciary Ad-Hoc Committee Overview

The Fiduciary Section of CBIT has an Ad-Hoc Committee which meets monthly to discuss a variety of tax topics that impact Private Banks, Trust Companies and High Net Worth Individuals. The members of the committee generally consist of the tax directors and department heads of the member banks, as well as senior partners from public accounting firms. Members of the committee take turns hosting a luncheon where the meetings take place (typically in NYC), in a roundtable format. Members of the committee are asked to advise the chairman of pertinent issues which form the agenda for the meeting. The committee discusses all areas of Federal and State tax law, filing positions for certain situations, as well as best practices for managing tax department functions . Through CBIT's 501(c)(6) organization, the committee has sent various comment letters to the Treasury on Proposed Regulations which may impact the industry. The active participation of its members, combined with our unique environment which promotes information sharing, makes this committee a valuable part of CBIT. Membership to this committee is available to current CBIT Members by invitation only. There are approximately 20 member firms represented on this committee which consist of Global, National and Regional financial institutions.
